That certainly doesn't look very piddly!

So, um, how light is a light railway?

2 foot gauge.

I made a thing! / Making a turntable and other work at WLLR

I am making a turntable.

Not some piddly thing for playing 70's vinyl through an 5W per channel amp but something a little bigger for the West Lancs Light Railway.

I have currently only got as far as cleaning up some bits of RSJ sourced from a sewage works.

This project could take a little time though working only the occasional Thursday night as a volunteer.

Someone else has been making the hole in the ground the turntable will go into.

General Chat / Re: Tea? Coffee? Cake?

Generally, it's tea for me, white, no sugar.

Cake? Why, yes please!

My Mum likes Choco Liebnitz. She's a bit more restrained than I am, so she can do this wierd thing where she only eats one at a time. She can eat less than a whole tube of Pringles too. Bonkers!

In fizzPOP v1.0 days Choco Leibniz[1] and chips became somewhat canonical. At the recent Maker Nights at The Public I took it upon myself to ensure there was a ready supply of Jaffa Cakes.

Not so good for the diabetic makers amongst us  :(

We'll need an alternative (or perhaps an addition) next time around, methinks...

Also, sorry for joining up and straightaway making demands! ;)

Absolutely no problem at all. Good to see you and Maker of Things making yourselves at home :)

Okay... remembered a blog post I wrote a few years ago. Have replaced nouns with verbs. Let's see how/if that works!

So, what would you like when you are making or fixing?

Me? A coffee (no milk) in the morning and then Decaff Earl Grey tea.  Cake is always welcome, especially home made.

I made a thing! / Scrap made pedal powered smoothie maker
« Last post by Maker of Things on October 13, 2013, 06:30:59 PM »
Arch and were at St Nicholas Fields Apple Day yesterday making pedal powered smoothies with my scrap built smoothie maker.

Much fun was had by the visitors making their own smoothies and for the kids who couldn't reach the pedals I helped them hand crank.
I will fit a seat tube to the spine to add an extra saddle that kids can use as required, then see if they have the strength to pedal a smoothie! ;)

Just as the day ended we noticed a 'misfire' in the blender and closer investigation showed that the rubber drive dog in the base of the jug had finally perished.  Maybe it isn't really up to the power a good cyclist can put through the drive wheel! 8)  I will make a replacement in something a little stronger. ;D

It's fine! And so much nicer an experience than a 'real' hairdresser. More gentle for a start, and no forced conversation about holidays. ;D

Brilliant, thanks. I quite agree about keeping a mix, I just wasn't sure if the sort of thing I do fitted in!

Also, sorry for joining up and straightaway making demands! ;)
